Christian care for families

Welcome to MU in the Dioceses of TKA

From the Diocesan President, Alison Rooke

Welcome to our website and I hope you will find the information here both useful and challenging.  I have recently taken over as the Diocesan President and I wish to encourage as many of our members to use this site to convey something of the activities and events at branch level.

MU for too long has suffered a poor press.  Too many are still guilty of ignorance about the work and witness of this influential Christian charity and the excellent work undertaken by its members throughout the world.  To learn more of this can I refer you to where you can read about how the organization works to support families both at home and overseas.

Mothers’ Union has over 4million members in 83 countries who offer Christian care for families.  Members reach out to:

  •  Pray for relationships to flourish
  •  Campaign for social justice for the marginalized
  •  Enable development of all kinds: economic, relational and personal so that family life is strengthened.

It is an organization which

really does make a difference!

Praying, Campaigning, Enabling

Membership of the Mothers’ Union is about being a part of a

friendly organization which goes the extra mile.

Will you be our future and consider membership?

MU is a registered charity

But all our activities are rooted in prayer.

We, as MU members have a lot to offer you – but then you too have a lot to offer us!  Please do come along and at branch and Diocesan level see what the organization is actually about.  If you are unimpressed by what goes on at local level then get involved and by you making a difference in a small way then that enables this whole organization to make a difference in a very big way.  It is easy to criticize from afar – more difficult and challenging to get in there and contribute whatever talents God has given to you.

            The Mothers’ Union Prayer

Loving Lord,
We thank you for your love so freely given to us all.

We pray for families around the world.

Bless the work of the Mothers’ Union
as we seek to share your love
through the encouragement, strengthening and support of marriage and family life.

Empowered by your Spirit, may we be united in prayer and worship,
and in love and service reach out as your hands across the world.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Mary Sumner Prayer
Written in 1876 by Mothers’ Union founder,

Mary Sumner

All this day, O Lord,
let me touch as many lives as possible for thee;
and every life I touch, do thou by thy spirit quicken,
whether through the word I speak,
the prayer I breathe,
or the life I live.
